# What is the normal rpm at 80 mph

I just recently purchased a Yukon XL for my wife and noticed the RPM was higher at 70 mph than the RPM in my Tahoe.

### RPM question- is this normal? | Ford Explorer and Ford

I have a 97 corolla with the 3 speed auto, at 60 mph its at 3000 rpm, If I go 70 its about 3500 rpm. However, I figured out that the rpm is over 4000 when I drive over 80.

### What should rpm be at 70 mph on a 04 Chrysler sebring?

Therefore I agree that even at high rpms there is a residual advantage to a Prius over a similar Otto-engined Corolla.

Now, if you want to average 20 mph you have to push the second hardest gear on the cassette at 60 rpm (I use that gear to hit 31 by the way).Rpm, or rotations per minute, measures the rotational speed of an object.

When I drive over 65 MPH, the RPM will increase along with the speed. The Yukon, an 04 with the 5.3 engine, runs at 2K rpm at 70 mph while the Tahoe, an 02 with the 4.8 engine, runs at 1800 rpm at 70 mph.I have 1999 explorer sport 4wd 4.0 SOHC with 100k miles. when i drive on highway at 70 mph. my RPM stays at 2700 rpm. and at 80mph it stays at 3000.

### Suzuki SX4 70 mph , 4000 rpm, is it normal? — Car Forums

Just to update this come to find out the reason why my rpm and speeds vary so much from what you are seeing is that I have the 16% taller fifth gear installed so my numbers of 60 mph at 2100 ish is correct. So I was at the gym today and wasnt paying attention to the bike I was riding.Fortunately, conversion of mph to rpm can be accomplished by using a few simple mathematical calculations.

### 2200 Rpm at 60 mph | Tacoma World

I am now saving for the JE Pistons, Crower Rods and Ferrea Valve Terrain.MG2 is the bigger motor, it has a fixed ratio to the speed of the tires, 0 RPM = 0 MPH, 6500 RPM = 110 MPH (on a Gen1) But an electric motor produces maxmum torque at ~0 RPMs (Unlike a gas engine which usually has maximum torque near the middle of the powerband) so MG2 really helps at low speed and has a diminishing effect at higher speeds, but...At 80 mph the 4 wheel non-independent suspension becomes acutely obvious. If you want to convert a rotational speed to a linear speed, such as miles per hour, you need to know the diameter of the circle the object spins around.

I did a lot of freeway driving at 75-80 mph, running at 3500 RPM or so.

### MPG at 80MPH? | PriusChat

Last week the check engine light came on (it has since gone off).At 60 mph, that gives you 840 rpm, 1,120 rpm at 80 mph, and 1,400 rpm at 100 mph.As the earlier poster notes, the sweet spot for mileage is usually 50-60 mph, but interstate speeds are more like 70-80 mph.

### What does your Tachometer read @ 80 MPH on the interstate?

RPM at 70 mph, 1997 E300 I drove another 1997 E300 that I am considering.
